Romanica Olomucensia 2026, 38(1):1-20 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2026.001
This study focuses on Miguel Luis de Amunátegui's Apuntaciones lexicográficas (1907-1909), a work that can be classified as lexicographical criticism. It offers comments and observations on some entries that are absent or poorly treated in the Academy's dictionary (DRAE), in the hope that the Real Academia de la Lengua Española will consider these assessments and incorporate the changes into its dictionary. Our objective is to understand the influence this author had on the Academy's work. To this end, these proposals for improvement will first be described and analysed and then the extent to which they were incorporated into editions...
Els marcadors discursius eh?, no?, miri, escolti amb l‘efecte (des)cortès o autocortès dins del discurs parlamentari

Romanica Olomucensia 2026, 38(1):21-36 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2026.002
The work aims to perform pragmatic analysis of the presence of the discursive markers eh?, no?, miri, and escolti in the communicative behaviour of Catalan politicians participating in the current parliamentary sessions. These markers are elements that intensify data that the parliamentarians consider relevant to construct their argument convincingly and that at the same time represent strategies to work on the social image of the participants. The analysis studies samples from the Diaries of Sessions of the Parliament of Catalonia. The markers under study are considered within the context and are characterised from...

Romanica Olomucensia 2026, 38(1):37-61 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2026.003
This work presents a proposal for conducting research that contributes concrete linguistic-discursive data to support social reflections and critical interpretations. Its paradigm is interpretative, and its theoretical framework is Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). Consequently, the proposal is grounded in a predominantly inductive and qualitative methodology with the incorporation of data triangulation. Essentially, it involves the combination of two software tools to examine situations of social conflict, violations of rights, and exclusion through and within the associated discourses, as of interest to CDA. The software tools used are NVivo...

Whether written, oral, or visual, Moroccan advertising is an example of multilingualism, where advertisers use a mixture of two or three languages to formulate slogans and advertising messages. The aim of this study focuses on the linguistic richness of a few advertising images from two Moroccan operators: Inwi and Orange. Our purpose is to examine and understand the functioning of the phenomenon in question and the role of each language used, while carrying out a qualitative analysis based on the communication schema proposed by Roman Jakobson. Our study of these advertisements has revealed the following results: a) the use of a mixture of languages...
Los posesivos en A Fala y su combinación con el artículo determinado

Romanica Olomucensia 2026, 38(1):75-91 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2026.005
The possessives in A Fala show similarities with other Romance languages, but they also present interesting peculiarities and differences between the three varieties of A Fala. For this reason, the study first presents the system of possessives and then examines in detail the possibility of using the definite article before prenuclear possessives, taking into account both linguistic and extralinguistic factors. The analysis is based on the A Fala Database, which contains 337,000 words with 1190 uses of the possessives mei(s), miña(s) in the prenuclear position. The database is composed of an oral corpus and a written corpus, which...
Polyfonctionnalité interlinguale et intralinguale des morphèmes : le cas des gallicismes slovaques

Morphological adaptation constitutes a field of interaction between borrowing and word formation. A borrowed lexeme (lexical borrowing), adapted at both the inflectional and word formation levels, is characterised by the presence of polyfunctional morphemes. This distinctive feature manifests itself and operates in two ways: (1) interlingually (FR-SK), where it performs two functions: word formation and systematising, and (2) intralingually (SK-SK), here, too, it performs two functions: inflectional and word formation. The first process illustrates how the lexical status of the source lexeme in L1 - whether simplex or morphologically complex - conditions...

This paper explores Mahi Binebine's Le Fou du roi, focusing on the father figure, court jester to King Hassan II. The novel dramatises the inner conflict between allegiance to royal power and family loyalty. The text presents a tragic rupture following the Skhirat coup, revealing the devastating emotional and ethical costs of loyalty to authoritarian regimes. Our approach combines narrative analysis with a political and psychoanalytical reading. The character construction, symbolic motifs, and familial dynamics, with attention to silence, betrayal, and shame, are examined. Consideration is also given to how the father's function as a jester...

This article addresses the question of innovation in modern Moroccan poetry. It deals with the dialogue between literature and other art forms (poetry, the novel, painting, music, and translation). The mystery of poetic writing manifests itself in the text produced, whose aesthetic and thematic specificities depart from those of traditional poetry, and whose aim is to establish a new bond between the poet and his readers. The choice of accompanying the poem with a translation encourages appreciation of this type of writing, even in a foreign language and culture. The question is why this poetry is unique and innovative. Does its translation reflect...
La préface de Le Procès-verbal de Le Clézio : invitation habile à la rencontre esthétique
The preface to Le Procès-verbal by Le Clézio: skilful invitation to an aesthetic encounter
Samira Hraoui
Romanica Olomucensia 2026, 38(1):135-144 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2026.009
The reception of a literary text is in constant evolution as a result of various internal and external factors. To guide readers, many writers choose to include a preface in their novels. The preface acts as a clever prelude, encouraging the reader to accept or reject the text. In this sense, the present article examines the primordial role of this hors-texte ("outside-the-text") in the construction of a readership, while insisting on its influence on a horizon of expectations. From the angle of the aesthetics of reception, the aim will be to approach this perspective according to which the text or the paratext is a form of communication between...

Romanica Olomucensia 2026, 38(1):145-160 | DOI: 10.5507/ro.2026.010
The exhumation of various materials linked to the critical, teaching, translation, and editorial practices of Enrique Pezzoni (Buenos Aires, 1926-1989) enabled the assembly of an archive that brought to light several questions concerning the teaching of Latin American literature during the years marked by successive dictatorships in Argentina: the conception of editorial projects aimed at disseminating this literature; the figurations and styles Pezzoni adopted within the translation projects of the Sur and Sudamericana publishing houses; the ways in which his public image reflects the circulation of intellectuals in the mass media; the insights his...
